FOSTERING EDUCATION BC

Happy Autumn Everyone!

Please take a moment to check out this new up and coming, grassroots group,
Fostering Education BC: for Youth in Care and Former Youth in Care

There are plenty of virtual volunteering, practicum, and research assistant positions available to you!

We are pleased to announce the launch of our website Fostering Education for Youth in Care & Former Youth in Care: www.fosteringeducation.ca
The Fostering Education website provides links to post-secondary information and resources for YiC & Former YiC in BC. Our News & Events page includes our inaugural event (formerly Visibility Project) funded by the Freya Milne Fund with sponsorship from the UVic Centre for Youth & Society, the UVic Faculty of Education, and UVic Indigenous Education. We are grateful for this support which encouraged us to move forward with our vision for this project. On our Networking & Volunteer Opportunities page you will meet our first Practicum Student who built our website for us. We are in the process of writing grants and hope to have more Practicum Students & Research Assistants in the near future to help us maintain current information and resources, as well as, grow our network and outreach across BC.

Contact us if you or your networks are interested in:
  • Being linked to our website or adding links to our Post-Secondary Funding & Community Resources pages
  • Participating in Practicums or Research Assistant positions
  • Providing info on post-secondary funding, obtaining status & specific supports for Aboriginal youth in care
  • Sharing Funding or Grant opportunities with us
Share our website widely and feel free to contact us here at our new email:fosteringeducationbc@gmail.com

With gratitude,
Kate Ritchie & Sarah Wright Cardinal, Co-coordinators, Fostering Education
